Coaching FAQs

What is a professional coach?

The International Coach Federation (ICF) is the organization that sets the standards for professional coaching and supports the advancement of the profession. They offer this definition of coaching:

The ICF defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential, which is particularly important in today’s uncertain and complex environment. Coaches honor the client as the expert in his or her life and work and believe every client is creative, resourceful and whole.

How do you know if coaching is right for you?

To determine whether you or your company can benefit from a professional coaching relationship, start by summarizing what is holding you back from reaching your potential. You may be unaware of what is preventing you from achieving your goals.

Through an initial consultation with a trained professional coach the two of you together will be able to determine whether a coaching relationship will set you on the right path and help you overcome whatever obstacles are in your way.
